A key component of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theduluthmodel.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Duluth Model<\/a>\u2019s coordinated community response is the men\u2019s nonviolence program.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theduluthmodel.org\/product\/creating-process-change-men-batter-curriculum-package\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Creating a Process of Change for Men Who Batter<\/em><\/a>\u00a0is the premier\u2014and one of the longest-standing\u2014curricula for men\u2019s nonviolence programs. It is designed to support men through a structured change process that reduces or eliminates their use of violence and coercive control.<\/p>\n<p>Originally developed in 1986 in Duluth, Minnesota, by advocates and intervention workers, the curriculum emerged from extensive work with survivors that also led to the creation of the world-renowned\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theduluthmodel.org\/wheels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Power and Control Wheel<\/a>.\u00a0<em>Creating a Process of Change for Men Who Batter<\/em>\u00a0continues to evolve, integrating contemporary research, cultural considerations, and best practices in facilitating meaningful accountability and change.<\/p>\n<p>This training\u2014required prior to purchasing and implementing the curriculum\u2014equips participants with the skills and understanding needed to facilitate the program effectively. The training focuses on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The theoretical foundations that examine domestic violence and coercive control as social, systemic problems<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating structured, interactive classes that support accountability and engagement<\/li>\n<li>Establishing and maintaining dialogue while avoiding collusion<\/li>\n<li>Using control logs, equality logs, exercises, role-plays, and video vignettes<\/li>\n<li>Supporting men in identifying and changing the beliefs that underpin their use of violence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theduluthmodel.org\/product\/cpc-2026-aug-25-27\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">REGISTER<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Description Domestic violence intervention requires a coordinated response across public agencies, community-based programs, and the communities they serve.
