This workshop explores the intersection of technology, intimate partner violence (IPV), and LGBTQ+ youth vulnerabilities. Participants will learn key terminology that helps explain how sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sex characteristics (SOGIESC) are categorized and represented in data.

The workshop examines prevention gaps, predictive surveillance, and the broader impacts of surveillance systems on LGBTQ+ communities, providing contemporary context for how surveillance disproportionately affects queer and trans people.
Participants will also explore the ways artificial intelligence can be weaponized, including through chatbots, deepfakes, voice cloning, and other forms of technology-facilitated harm.

Designed for youth advocates, this workshop equips participants with the knowledge to recognize the unique risks LGBTQ+ youth face in digital spaces and to better support survivors of technology-facilitated harm through a contextual understanding of technology, power, and systemic inequities.
